There goes my hero

Edit #1
World Cup's over now and so is Zidane's career. It hurts that it ended in such a terrible mess. A great hero like Zidane could not even be present at the medal giving ceremony, because of this. Zidane, you will nevertheless be held in our highest esteem always and you shall still be counted as one of the greatest ones that ever kicked a soccer ball

Wowww. Zizou.. … The more he bleeds under criticism the more determined he is… Additionally, Zizou in his gait and speech looks suppper cooooooooooooool (or supperr hottttt, maybe????). Great great great clip….

Please once again watch the last part of the clip where Zizou chest-traps the ball and subsequently receives it with feet showing extraordinary acrobatism (it is clear in the slow motion).

This skill Zizou has learnt from me when we used to play together in DC-Milan. Unfortunately this fact was never documented by the news media. I'm very much embarrassed to blow my own trumpet. Blame it on the media ignorance.

Anwesha, thanks for this nice tribute to Zidane. If you look around elsewhere in the weblogspot, you will see that plenty of posts gloating over Zidane's misfortune mercilessly. In my opinion, this is distasteful to try to miniaturize one’s lifelong feat just for one slip committed on the spur of the moment. It is indeed very cruel not to consider how repentant and hurt Zidane himself must’ve had been to be forced to retire in such an undesired way. A player of his profile never deserved this. Now the entire media will pounce upon him, sit on his chest to suck his blood, to inflict him with more pain. It reminds me of the custom of suttee in Hinduism or the execution by guillotine during French revolution where big crowds used to cheer as the victim was being burnt alive or executed.

knock! knock!!
Hello, are you alive?
Rice cooker exploded or what?
Went to the war with the armed children?
Who threw bombs like rotten eggs..
Who ate bullets like chocolates.
Who swam through the fire.
Hello, are you listening?
Knock! Knock!!
Are you alive?
Helloo ..Hello... hell..

Heh heh heh Akash, am pretty much alive..you see, I am not cooking. It explains why I am still alive. Have been jaded and confused and culture shocked for sometime, hence this long repose. But now that I am back, blogging shall resume unabated.
